Can Tragedies Cause Divorce?
There is an interesting article on internet titled “Love and marriage in an age of rampant divorce”. In this article the writer looks at why people still like to marry when about 38 per cent of marriages in Canada are going to end in divorce. The article goes on to say that “everyone wants the right to buy the license for what may be most difficult experience in life.” Statistics show that there has been a significant surge in the number of people filing for Alberta divorce in the courts.
Many of us still believe that marriage is one of the most beautiful and enchanting events in our lives. The importance of this institution in the lives of individuals can be realized by the fact that a lot of people are ready to spend a lavish amount of money on their dream wedding. More and more people now wish to hold their weddings at romantic and picturesque locations like gorgeous beaches, royal palaces, and other breathtakingly beautiful sites.
People want to make their marriage a memorable event because they believe that marriage takes only once in this life. Most people enter into marriage with the hope that it would last forever. However, due to various reasons some marriages cannot survive and end up in divorce courts. There are some common causes for divorce like absence of effective communication between the spouses, lack of adjustment, financial strains, and domestic violence.
Divorce can also occur due to certain sudden happenings in life. The common belief is that husband and wife should support each other in bad times as well as in good. It is also frequently seen that the tragedies bind people especially the family members together. However, in some cases, life tragedies can create bitterness between the couples.
Many studies have shown that losing a job can sometimes contribute to the separation between husband and wife. This does not mean that your spouse will leave you as soon as you are laid off from the job. However, divorce can eventually happen if both of you cannot cope with the financial stains and emotional stress caused by your job loss.
Many other tragic life events like occurrence of physical disabilities, death of a child, or sudden illness of a spouse or child can also strain marriages and lead to divorce. The underlying point is that the love and cooperation between husband and wife is very essential to face the challenges in married life. If anyone wants to have an Alberta divorce due to the tragedies in their married life, just remember the proverb that ‘you cannot escape your destiny by moving from place to place.’
